After receiving feedback for my photos taken over summer, I found a new person to take photos of with a more clear look of an artist and made sure to represent a different social group

photos with the green background are not as effective and the social group representation of lgbtq+ individuals is not clear enough, photos with rainbow background are effective though.

Feedback on test shots/ ideas so far

From my feedback on test shots I know that I need to think of a way to represent different social groups in a more clear way as from my test shots this isn't clear. I thought of different ideas to represent this more clearly. 

• rainbow lights? makeup? flag? make the representation more clear
• get boy to do it instead to represent men, or find someone else to represent a different social group

Practice shots

 Over half term, I decided to take some practice photos in order to see if my ideas for my magazine covers were likely to be successful. I was away for majority of the half term and was unable to see my talent for my finalised photos, but had friends help me by taking the place of my talent so I could see how effective my ideas were.

Cover One Test Shoot

For my practice of my first cover I attempted to create a wall of posters and had my talent sat on pillows, in some photos holding a record. I gave my friend stepping in for this practice various records which i thought I could edit to look like her album, but when taking these I forgot that in my original plan I wanted her to hold the actual record instead of the sleeve and I think this may look more effective.

Cover Two Test Shoot

For my second cover, I attempted to achieve the lighting i had planned, inspired by disco and glam rock, and i played my disco ball in this to practice lighting. I think i achieved this quite well but I will need to make sure it doesn’t end up being too dark and also remember to get other people who can help hold lights etc. The photos with my friend in aren’t as effective as i don’t think the way in which she is holding the disco ball looks slightly unnatural and it was hard to fit all of the miser on scene in front of the colourful curtains. When I am taking photos with my real model i will redirect how she should pose with the disco ball.
