Cover One

For this cover, I plan to have my model sat in front of a wall of music posters, providing intertextual references for my magazine and showing artists that inspire my cover star who I am presenting as an up-and-coming pop artist.

 

Cover Two

For my second cover I want to have a disco/glam rock inspired mise en scene, with a disco ball for my cover star to lean on, disco like lighting, and colourful glittery fringe hanging over a dark wall in the background. I want my cover star to have makeup inspired by David Bowie in Life on Mars, as well as Chappell Roan, a lesbian pop singer increasing in popularity rapidly. I chose to reference these artists on my cover as the artist I am showing on it is a new queer artist who speaks about their queer icons and influences and I thought that many would understand the Bowie reference and if not the younger proportion of my target audience would connect to the Chappell Roan inspired makeup.
